Global Learning
Embedding an understanding of global cultures into our daily school life is important to deepening the children's understanding of, and respect for, the wide world in which they live.
Our partnership with Empowering Children School in Freetown, Sierra Leone, is vital to the development of this understanding. Having endured the Ebola Crisis, the Freetown community have retained their passion for education and their desire to learn about other cultures. Our classes have already received welcome letters from the pupils at Empowering Children School and thoroughly enjoyed reading how happy they all are!
As our partnership progresses, we are working on multiple joint projects that will take our partnership to the next stage. Through visiting their school in Freetown we aim to share our knowledge and we will learn so much from them. We want to make our pupils global citizens and this partnership gives a great foundation for our ever developing global curriculum.
Mr Kamara's visit from our partner school in Sierra Leone 2019
I just wanted to say that your pupils who have attended swimming for the past two weeks have been a credit to their school. They have walked through perfectly, quietly and have shown great respect to whoever held open a door for them. Several WHA staff have commented to me on their impeccable behaviour.
